Summer Anthems 2007

2007 is when it felt like there was the 4th wave of Happy Hardcore starting. The 1st wave was 1994 with breakbeats and pianos. The 2nd wave was 1996 – 1999 with a big kickdrum. The 3rd wave was a darker sound with some minimal tones from 2001 – 2006. The 4th wave in 2007 is when things began to feel even more influenced from other EDM genres beyond D&B and Trance. We’re probably on the 6th wave as we move into 2020 and beyond.
